Fishermen used to fish using Cormorants during the
night. They would tie a string around
the birds neck so it couldn’t swallow the fish all the way down.

The bird is trained to go
to the fisherman who grabs the bird by the throat (you can see the tail of the
fish emerge from the mouth of the bird).

You can see that the fish is now mostly out of the bird's mouth. |
