Guilin China: Cormorant Fishing

I couldn't get this in the earlier post because it wouldn't "publish" so I kept deleting things until it would post.  I am disappointed how non-user friendly this software is, but I will persevere...

We went one evening and watched two fishermen use Cormorant's to fish something that is not commercially done.  Quite a process...

Fishermen used to fish using Cormorants during the night.  They would tie a string around the birds neck so it couldn’t swallow the fish all the way down.

The bird is trained to go to the fisherman who grabs the bird by the throat (you can see the tail of the fish emerge from the mouth of the bird).

You can see that the fish is now mostly out of the bird's mouth.
